What Age Do You Act?
You Are 28 Years Old |
Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe. 13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world. 20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences. 30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more! 40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax. |
And I swore I was always fifteen :0(

Yahoo! Groups : valewhitehorsefreecycle
My newest project is another local Freecycle group, for the Vale of the White Horse area. Freecycle is such a great idea and I missed it when I moved house, so I've been keen to get this new group off the ground and it finally got approved on Wednesday. So far we've got 36 members already :0) Just need to find a way to encourage them all to be proactive now ...

All in all it's been a really good week. I got the job and found the childcare; our new washing machine arrived; my Freecycle group got off the ground; and my car passed its MOT first time. Amazing!

I'm through with LiveJournal!!
Obviously having a bored moment, hence the posts. A friend commented that she prefers LiveJournal as she has friends there, and I do too ... or so I thought. I visited with the idea of putting more personal stuff there and links here - only to find that all my entries and my friends list have been totally wiped out! Don't know if you have to post there every so often to keep the account active, but as I'm so lax at actually keeping blogs up to date I think I'll just stick to this one from now on.
Thursdays. I never could get the hang of Thursdays
My fiancé's got a Blog now. Wonder if he'll update it more regularly than I do??

Fingers crossed ...
I went for an interview with Alamy Images yesterday. I so so so so SO would like that job .......

Here We Go Again!
Seems like this is a fairly key point of my life - having just graduated, moved in with U and now looking for a job - yet I'm not recording what's going on. My personal diary is feeling sad and neglected, as is my LiveJournal account (can't get on with that at all, even though I know loads of people there), so I'll try and pop the odd comment on here - more for my benefit than anyone else!

Breakthrough Generations - The UK study of the causes of breast cancer
For women only :0)
I recently signed up to take part in the Breakthrough Generations long term study into the causes of breast cancer. It aims to observe patterns in 100,000 women in order to try and find some common factors and eventually the causes. At the moment only about 15,000 women have signed up, so I'm posting to try and encourage you to join.
If you do get involved you'll be studied for the next forty or so years, but there's really not all that much to it. Initially you have to fill in a detailed questionnaire about your lifestyle, health, medical background, and there's some quite personal stuff in there too, but it's manageable. You also need to give a blood sample. You'll then be contacted every few years to find out if you have had any major lifestyle or health changes; you may also need to give more blood. But that's it - and you could be helping your children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren ....
Any woman over the age of 18 can take part. I really hope you'll follow the link and find out more.

Now I love unusual foods and Thai green curry is a particular favourite of mine - but Green Curry Crickets are just going a little bit too far for my liking ...

Something of an obsession ....?
Now those who know me may say I'm a little obsessed with books .... but this chap is taking the obsession a little too far! I love the furniture, especially the table and chairs, but the kitchen is a little disappointing.

the perfect wedding gift?
I considered this idea for wedding rings for, ooh, about two tenths of a second. Think I'd prefer white gold for ours!

Who Should You Vote For?
Who Should You Vote For?
Not sure who you should be voting for next week? Or just want to check if the party you choose actually represent your views? This site proved pretty bloody accurate for me!

Schnappi das kleine Krokodil :-)
What on earth is going on with Europe's taste in music? We have an old rock star who's been dead for thirty years at number one .... and Germany has a four year old girl singing about Snappy the Crocodile!

Supper With The Stars
"Supper With The Stars is an exciting new service to make your party sparkle with an elusive touch of Hollywood glamour. Imagine having your favourite friends round for dinner. What would really make you party go with a bang? All your guests have arrived, now imagine their surprise when a top TV personality walks in and joins the party!"
So how much "Hollywood glamour" does Keith Harris have?* How much extra do you have to pay for Orville? And how on EARTH does Schnorbitz (the 4th) play Pictionary??!!!
Supper With The Stars
*It's obviously VERY elusive!

Tsunami Earthquake
On Boxing Day 2004 south east Asia experienced probably the worst natural disaster since man existed. Hundreds of thousands of people have died and millions left homeless. If you haven't donated already please do, now.
